Ahead for Washington: The Mini Cliff

In their New Year’s deal to avoid the fiscal cliff, Congress and the White House managed to delay negotiations over painful cuts to the federal budget. However, with the threat of sequestration still looming, Credit Suisse’s Ira Jersey cautions that Washington now faces a “mini-fiscal cliff.” Jersey remains optimistic politicians can strike a grand bargain, but says many things need to be done to get an agreement in place.
