Consumers in emerging markets are feeling sunnier about their own economic prospects, according to the Credit Suisse Research Institute’s latest annual poll.
The 2013 Emerging Consumer Survey asked more than 14,000 consumers in eight countries a host of questions, including whether they thought their personal finances were likely to improve in the next six months.
As Richard Kersley, Credit Suisse’s Head of Global Securities Research Product, explains in the video below, the increasingly optimistic outlook was by no means uniform. Consumers in Brazil, China and Indonesia sounded the most positive notes, while South African, Russian and Turkish consumers were less enthused about their prospects.
