Mark Cuban and the Upside of Failure

Last week, Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks and HDNet, announced a $500,000 seed investment in Condition One. The New York startup, launched by veteran war photojournalist Danfung Dennis, lets users capture180-degree photo and video views of just about anything. We actually caught up with Cuban a few months ago at the Credit Suisse Entrepreneurs Summit in Sundance, where he talked about what it takes to turn an idea into a successful business. While the snow has since melted, Cuban’s entrepreneurial drive remains strong. He said he owes much his success to hard work and the ability to learn from his failures. “No matter how many times you fail, it really doesn’t matter,” he explains. “All it takes is one hit and then everybody can call you an overnight success.”
